Stanley sales up 16% in 1q

Virginia's Stanley Furniture Co., the case goods manufacturer and importer, has experienced a sales growth of 16 percent to $83 million in the first quarter of 2005. The company also experienced a net income increase of 25 percent to $ 5.8 million. The boost in productivity and operating efficiency has led to the growth.

Bassett 4Q sales down 3.4%

Bassett, Va. based Bassett Furniture Inds has reported fourth-quarter sales of $80.1 million in 2005, down 3.4% from the prior year's quarter. Sales for the full-line manufacturer and importer were essentially flat at $315.7 million in 2004, which ended November 27. The relevant statistical data is presented.
