Storis looking to Internet; consumer shopping software set for testing

Article Abstract:

Storis Management Systems will integrate Internet technology to its retail automation system. Prototypes, that consist of the Extranet and the Virtual Store, were shown to participants at a conference to underscore the new directions being taken by the company. The extranet allows remote outlets to have access to the chain's operating system while the Virtual Store enables clients orders to be directly fed into the Storis system. Testing of the prototypes are slated while their general introduction to the market will be in early 1999.
