Furniture Industry can follow the revolutionary steps of Mazda, which reported an 18% growth for the first half of 2003. One Mazda innovation, which is part of an extensive $ 3 million renovation exercise per store, is providing Internet kiosks for customers to browse, compare and decide. Other innovations include an open, transparent approach, less paperwork, and quicker time to test-drive the cars.

Ikea index indicates Finns pay highest prices

Gabriel Thulin, a Swedish statistician and consultant has developed an economic index that uses a basket of twenty-six Ikea products in fifteen different countries to measure pricing differences. According to this index Finland customer pays the maximum and U.S.A. pays the minimum for the same product. He offers the complete data, analysis and underlying calculations for a price.

John Boyd relaunches Salem House pine line

Article Abstract:

John Boyd Designs has reintroduced the Salem House line of pine bedroom and dining room furniture. The two collections feature two traditional looks: Homestead and Bordeaux. The line consists of nine tables, eight chinas and buffets, and 49 seating fabric selections. Design elements include hammered iron hardware, bun feet, cabriole legs, and antique brass hardware.
