The Philippine Department of Tourism reports that the country's tourist industry has boomed since the election of Fidel Ramos as president in 1992, with the result that investment in the sector has almost doubled in one year. Foreign tourist spending in the Philippines totalled US$2.7 billion in 1996, an increase of 10.1% over 1995. Investment in the the Philippine tourist industry increased from Ps12.87 billion in 1995 to Ps25.40 billion in 1996.

Performance indicators in the Dutch Department of Defense

Article Abstract:

The performance measurement system of the National Logistics Command of the Netherlands' Dept. of Defense was analyzed and discovered to be deficient in pertinence and consistency. This is due to the application of the military organization's principle of command relationships in contrast to contract management. The goals established for the commanding officers only partially consider the performance of the agencies.
