Thomasville 'thinks retail' with Hemingway collection

Article Abstract:

Thomasville Furnitures' Ernest Hemingway collection will be shown in the forthcoming market exactly the same way it will be featured in stores. Thomasville store owners and traditional retailers can choose from any one of five retail display concepts in presenting the 94-SKU collection. Each of the formats, which vary in size and taste, will be complemented by planograms, turnkey marketing support papers, accessory materials and color plans. The set up for half of the Thomasville showroom will be similar to a store environment and will be provided with accessories from other Hemingway licenses.

Ethan Allen expanding case goods capacity

Article Abstract:

Ethan Allen is expecting an end-1999 operation of a $7.5 million, 60,000-sq-ft expansion of its Boonville, NY-based case goods facility. Chairman Farooq Kathwari has pointed out that the expansion is part of an ongoing program, worth $25 million in facility repair and additions, encompassing 21 sites and three sawmills in 11 states. Increase in sales at the company's network of 313 stores, including a 9% hike to $166.2 million in the first nine months of 1998, has created the necessity for such expansion program.
