Tragedy touches N.Y., Va. stores

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the effects of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks have had on Theresa Pickard of Sleepy's and Adam Levine, co-owner of Basics Furniture. Both furniture companies are based in NY. Arlington, VA-based Danker Furniture, near the Pentagon, served as a refuge for some government employees who escaped from the attack on the Pentagon.

The furniture industry has been taking part in relief efforts for victims of the recent Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, donating what might be million of dollars and many items. Salt Lake City-based retailer R.C. Willey is contributing $25,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
