Marketing tire shreds as playground cover

Article Abstract:

Tire shreds have been used as turf cover particularly for playgrounds. Julie Barnes and Leslie Morgan are marketing colored tire shreds that uses a non-toxic coating. The colored rubber surfacing is ideal for use in playgrounds as they can prevent injuries resulting from falls. The material is resilient, fire proof, contains antibacterial and antifungal agents and will not attract neighborhood pets. A patent for the product called 'Boing!' is pending.
