The legislative maze; how to be an effective lobbyist

Article Abstract:

Lobbyists need to understand Parliamentary procedure and timing to be successful. Bills can be introduced in either the House of Commons or the Lords, and are subject to first and second readings. If the bill passes these stages it can be amended by a committee. If successful at the third reading it goes to the other House, and if passed there receives Royal assent.
