Developing a training policy

Article Abstract:

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires employers to provide the necessary information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure the health and safety at work of their employees and developing a positive health and safety culture. Employers can either choose external trainers who can help with training, although in-house training is the most effective, or they can provide on-the-job training or computer-based, interactive learning.

Health and safety reversed not revitalized, claim labour law campaigners

Article Abstract:

The labour law campaigners feel that the self-regulatory approach to health and safety has failed and that the government has not implemented even its own limited reform agenda. A report published by the Institute of Employment Rights claims that no attempt is made by the revitalizing health and safety strategy to radically reform the legal framework or its enforcement.
