Prospecting for value in private equity

Article Abstract:

Private equity investments are becoming popular as traditional stock and bond markets become fully valued. Options available to private equity investors include direct investment in individual companies and investment in private equity partnerships. A typical private equity portfolio would have up to 60% invested in buyout funds, 20%-50% in venture capital funds and 10%-30% in special situation funds.
