Evaluating your new computer system

Article Abstract:

Computers used for personnel management should be evaluated on an ongoing basis. This will aid staff acceptance of and commitment to the system, help determine if the system is performing to standards, and identify problems as they arise. Everything should fall within the evaluation's range, especially the quantity and quality of work change, speed of access to information, and whether or not the information is used more frequently. Such an evaluation program should take one to two years, involving periodic questionnaires, interviews or group discussions, time logs, and informal surveys. Three areas should be evaluated for cost-benefit analyses: cost displacement, cost elimination, and added value.
