Facilitate control

Article Abstract:

Health and safety is an important part of the facilities manager's role, and this requires the manager to carry out risk assessment, take appropriate action and monitor the effectiveness of controls. Risk evaluation should also fix priorities for action - major risks require extensive control systems, while minor risks will need only minor action. Facilities managers should also determine what controls are already in place and build on these, while making new new controls are introduced to address risks not covered by established procedures.
