Local complexities and global uncertainties: a study of foreign ownership and human resource management in China

Article Abstract:

The trends and differences in the nature of human resource management and employment policies of joint ventures and regional units of multinational corporations (MNCs) in China are examined. The parent-subsidiary relations among MNCs and their role in incorporating Chinese units in the global operations of MNCs are analyzed.

Strategic human resource management and MNEs' performance in China

Article Abstract:

This paper compares human resource practices among multinational enterprises (MNEs) in China's soft-drinks and electronics industries and tests a perspective of strategic human resource management (SHRM). Study findings support a number of fundamental assumptions of the SHRM model.

Implementing German HRM abroad: desired, feasible, successful?

This study examines the feasibility of implementing German human resource management (HRM) abroad. Specifically, six major German multinational corporations in Spain and Britain are analyzed and their reasons for the international coordination of HRM are examined.
