Multinationals, labour management and the process of reverse diffusion: a case study

Article Abstract:

A new study investigates the diffusion of employment practices from overseas to home units within a multinational company. A review of the literature on transfer of employment practices across borders is presented and a case study of a UK-owned multinational automotive components manufacturer that practices reverse diffusion is included. The role of corporate headquarters in the reverse diffusion process is examined.

Cultural barriers in the transferability of Japanese and American human resources practices to developing countries: the Turkish case

Article Abstract:

Multinational corporations working in foreign countries need to understand the social and cultural systems of the region if they are to be managed successfully. A study of some prevalent Japanese and American human resources management practices examines their success in Turkey and analyses the influence of Turkish culture. A framework is proposed that could be used in other developing countries.
