Offshoring: Still a threat to workers

Article Abstract:

Offshoring has affected a large part of the US workforce irrespective of the sectors where they are employed or skills they possess and the losses suffered by the workers are substantial. Constructive public policies such as extension of Trade Adjustment Assistance to service workers, formulation of economic policies to reduce the unemployment rate and treating American workers as a source of innovation, high productivity and quality can be implemented to ease the dislocation and give rise to a more competitive, high-employment economy.
