Swimming against the tide: social partnership, mutual gains and the revival of 'tired' HRM

Article Abstract:

The theoretical antecedents underpinning the social partnership approach are explored, and the motives behind, and the potential benefits of, the partnership agenda as a model for the future employment relations are examined. It is suggested that in the context of the UK partnership represents an attempt to renew the consideration of the 'tired' project of HRM, for overcoming the historic difficulties of constructing the project of the high-performance workplace.

Human resource management control system and firm performance a contingency model of corporate control

Article Abstract:

Extent to which corporate controls by the parent company can affect human resource management (HRM) control and performance of subsidiaries is analyzed. Study reveals that it would be beneficial for the subsidiaries to use an appropriate mix of HRM control systems.
