Linking health plan performance with disability outcomes

Article Abstract:

The premise that health plans can have a direct impact on disability duration was proven. Employers focusing on the prompt and suitable medical care combined with employer-accommodated work programs would realize a distinct drop in lost productivity costs and would also decrease medical care costs. The introduction of adequate incentives around lost productivity may provide coordinated cost/benefit management.
