Track applicants, track costs

Article Abstract:

Computerized applicant tracking systems (ATS) give human resource professionals an effective method for managing all aspects of the hiring process, thus allowing more time for finding high quality candidates. An ATS accesses information on positions from a company data base to efficiently produce requisitions, finds information on applicants from other data bases, and provides hiring managers with a clear picture of each applicant. The benefits a company realizes from using an ATS include: saving time, money, and human resources; reducing liability for employment lawsuits by keeping complete records; and increasing corporate efficiency and professionalism. An ATS typically contains a system for retrieving applications by name or social security number, a system for tracking all applicant affairs, and storage for all employment laws and guidelines.
