Risk management implications of the Americans with Disabilites Act: employment issues

Article Abstract:

The failure to comply with the Americans with Disabilites Act (ADA) could bring about costly consequences. The goal of meeting externally mandated obligations of the law has been placed in the hands of the risk manager who is assigned to identify the exposures faced by the firm that ensue from the ADA, examine the alternatives and select and implement the risk handling methods. Loss prevention strategies geared towards lessening loss frequency are suggested as the principal method to use in dealing with the ADA noncompliance exposure.
