How to design benefit packages for terminating executives

Article Abstract:

Terminated executives are often beset with difficulties regarding the continuation of postemployment benefits. Some executives have negotiated employment agreements containing provisions on postemployment benefits. Employers can prepare special arrangements for certainexecutives if there are no provisions for postemployment benefits under their employment deals. Employers also have the option to provide portable benefits to alleviate the concerns of displaced executives.

Commonsense pay for executives

Article Abstract:

Corporate executives are currently receiving large compensation packages for their work. However, some quarters criticize such large pay packages for being unreasonable, especially when the firm is not doing too well. A commonsense approach to executive pay packages would be more effective in today's business climate. Employers should make sure that company objectives are first realized before rewarding executives with large pay.
