No end of tribulations

Article Abstract:

Cherokee nation chief, Joe Byrd, has been criticized by many Cherokees, who argue that the Cherokee good name has been corrupted by Byrd's administration. Checks are written directly to the Cherokees from the government, and the Department of Labor and Department of the Interior have investigated the accounting system of the tribe. Byrd himself is not accused of trying to make himself rich, and he claims that there is a vendetta against him, led by his political enemies.
