Armed conflict, 1989-2003(super *)

Article Abstract:

The global number of armed conflicts has continued to decline in 2003 as-a total of 29 conflicts in 22 countries were active in 2003, as against 31 conflicts in 23 countries in 2002 - the lowest level of armed conflict since the early 1970s. A total of 229-armed conflicts in 148 countries are recorded for the period after World War II (1946-2003) of which, 116 conflicts in 78 countries were active in the period after the end of the Cold War (1989-2003).

Armed conflict and peace agreements

Article Abstract:

A report, which gives details on the armed disagreements and peace agreements since the World War II, is presented. It is learnt that two hundred and thirty one armed disagreements were recorded since the end of World War II and 121 after the end of Cold War and that in one-third of the disagreements recorded after Cold War, the conflicting parties have concluded peace agreements, solving, regulating or deciding the inappropriateness.

Theorizing peace parks: Two models of collective action

Article Abstract:

A study theorizes about the mechanisms by which so-called peace parks might act in resolving conflict and establishing regional stability using two models that differ in their portrayal of how these parks might work. The study's implementation of mutually complementing analytics gives a deeper understanding of how peace parks actually serve as effective bridges for peace.
