Focus on postmodernisms: a rejoinder

Article Abstract:

Difficulties in analyzing critical theory through a postmodernist approach are attributed to several factors. These include variations in discourse analysis, the multitude of trends and positions which create difficulty in sustaining a collective portrait, and resistance against the rationality of modernist thought which allows ambiguities in postmodernism. Critical issues about postmodernism have been raised. It was perceived that the lack of clarity, methodology and analytical standards in postmodernism may adversely affect post-positivist scholarship.

Antinomies of postmodernism in international studies

Article Abstract:

The postmodernist movement has maintained its presence in world culture as manifested in various international studies. These studies exhibit the postmodernist spirit as shown in the use of terms such as 'discourse,' 'narrative' and 'the Other.' The terms are intentionally used by postmodernists to mask deficiencies and inadequacies in their knowledge on international relations.
