Peace in the eyes of Israeli and Palestinian youths: Effects of collective narratives and peace education program

Article Abstract:

Human societies usually have one of their important common denominators, a collective narrative that embodies their shared historical memories, their sense of shared identity and sets of beliefs about themselves and in case of conflict, about the conflict and about their adversary. As is the case with other socially constructed concepts, the perception of peace should reflect the coloring of a society's collective narrative and its experience of current circumstances.

Article Abstract:

Public opinion as a policy-relevant imperative in negotiators' two-level games, in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is focused. The two characteristics of public opinion that includes its multifaceted nature and its susceptibility to framing efforts are also highlighted.

The effect of domestic and foreign pressure on Israeli decision to use limited military force

Article Abstract:

The patterns of Israeli limited military actions against its neighbors between 1950 and 1982 are analyzed. The study indicates that smaller states must be more cautious in their behavior, as they are more susceptible to foreign pressure than the United States.
