Regional dimensions of conflict in the Horn of Africa

Article Abstract:

The Horn of Africa has seen almost constant armed conflict since the 1970s, despite a brief period of peace between 1991 and 1994. The internal instability of Eritrea and Ethiopia challenges regional bodies' attempts to make peace through economic cooperation.

Issues of justice and reconciliation in complex political emergencies: conceptualising reconciliation, justice and peace

Article Abstract:

Justice is best established by outsiders while reconciliation is an essentially internal issue following armed conflict. International relief properly serves to support domestic initiatives and needs to act cautiously.
