Stabilising Iraq's water supply: What the Euphrates and Tigris rivers can learn from the Indus

Article Abstract:

The Iraqi government needs to stabilise quality of life in Iraq by providing water, food and electricity, and specially needs to maintain water supply to establish stability in the country. Iraq's water supply is through two rivers, Euphrates and Tigris, which flow through several countries before entering Iraq, therefore there is a need to establish a river commission to maintain long-term cooperation and have an agreement on sharing water.

Reconstructing gender: Iraqi women between dictatorship, war, sanctions and occupation

Article Abstract:

The role of Iraqi women in reconstruction processes is explored by contextualising the existing situation with respect to changing gender ideologies and relations over the past three decades since the year 2005, is discussed. The impacts of the early developmental-modernist discourses of the state and the impacts of war as well as the comprehensive economic sanctions regime are highlighted.
