The intellectual interment of a conflict: the forgotten war in Northern Ireland

Article Abstract:

The conflict in Northern Ireland has become one of the most misunderstood conflicts in history. Many have claimed to have studied the nature of the conflict, but has been unwilling to propose a solution to end it. Northern Ireland itself has been mired with fear and neglect by its own neighbor and must resort to violence just to be heard. Analysts have mostly viewed the conflict as a matter of local government and internal peacekeeping. This misconception has produced violence in the region and has been deemed as a hopeless situation by some UK officials.
