A white knight's tale; huge pro bono effort fights to free child abuse convicts

Article Abstract:

More than 40 attorneys working under the rubric of the Innocence Project Northwest have assembled to represent 13 people they believe falsely imprisoned for child abuse on a pro bono basis. One subgroup of attorneys is investigating possible conflicts of interest, and one the county's public defender system, believes not to have provided effective counsel. An article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer brought the matter to the lawyers' attention.
