Ark contempt charge looms as House mulls

Article Abstract:

Pres Bill Clinton's having misled Judge Susan Webber Wright in the dormant Paula Jones sexual harassment suit may suffice for a criminal contempt charge. Federal district Judge Susan Webber Wright voiced her concern about possible contempt in a Sept 1, 1998, memorandum that lifted a gag order in the Jones case, which the judge dismissed on Apr 1 of that year. In a footnote, she pointed out that Clinton contradicted with his public admissions deposition denials of sexual relations between himself and Monica Lewinsky.
