BlackBerry is instrumental in providing services even in situations where the computer server is down Users can enter the PIN number of the BlackBerry user, and can send a text message, PIN-to-PIN in case when the server is down, while during a power outage, the user can access e-mail, documents and the Internet.

The issue of using cell phones by the spectators and lawyers in the courtroom, which allows them to take photographs and send messages, is discussed. Hence, the court judges are planning to ban cell phones in the courtrooms.
