Competition policy

Article Abstract:

The European Commission has proposed the creation of a framework for global competition rules, to help World Trade Organisation members draw up and enforce their own regulations according to commonly agreed principles. The Commission believes that such a framework would help countries fight anti-competitive practices such as cartels. The Commission has called for the development and adoption of a set of common principles to promote equal conditions of competition throughout the world and encourage the gradual convergence of national competition legislation.
