Discipline on the ABA's agenda

Article Abstract:

The ABA House of Delegates will vote on 22 recommendations by the Commission on Evaluation of Disciplinary Enforcement at the association's midyear meeting to be held Jan 29-Feb 5, 1992 in Dallas, TX. The most controversial proposal is for public disclosure of disciplinary records from the time of the initial complaint. Comments received by the commission suggest that most attorneys favor the current standard of disclosure only after an investigation has found probable cause.

Quayle spices up ABA meeting; discipline, finances also are on the agenda

Article Abstract:

Dan Quayle's plans for legal reform were attacked by ABA President Talbot S. D'Alemberte at the organization's meeting in Dallas, Texas Jan 29-Feb 4, 1992. D'Alemberte accused Quayle of using discredited statistics in justifying his views. Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and the William Kennedy Smith defense team also addressed the meeting. The dominant issues of the conference were discipline, euthanasia and other health-related topics and the ABA's finances.
