Draw the fire away from the witness

Article Abstract:

Attorney Martin London believes that drawing attention away from the defendant is important for defense lawyers. Attacking the plaintiff is the best means of doing this, in London's opinion. This prepares a jury to be skeptical of the claims against the defendant and lessens their opinion of the plaintiff, which will save the defendant money should the time come to determine an award. Preparation is the key to successful cross-examination, London believes.

A giant-killer should limit scope of attack

Article Abstract:

Attorney Morgan Chu believes that limiting the scope of attack to a single narrow issue is the best way to force big business into the courts. Otherwise, the company with the money will drag out the discovery process until the smaller company has to settle. Chu represented Stac Electronics in its suit against industry giant Microsoft, and won his client a $120 million judgement. The case is discussed.
