Durable power can alleviate effects of client's incapacity

Article Abstract:

The durable power of attorney is an effective and economic means of handling a client's affairs while they are incapacitated. The wary eye often cast on those with durable power by courts and a client's family members makes it a troublesome business for some attorneys, however. In cases where the transfer of estate assets is likely to occur in a non-contested family situation, durable power of attorney is a good tool for estate planners and saves their clients money in most cases.

Good Heavens, it's c By God

Article Abstract:

If God and a co-author were publishing a conversation in cyberspace, God would never assign his copyright and thereby give away all legal rights to that co-author, even if the book were published for humanity's good. An acknowledgment to God would do no good. The ruling of the US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in Urantia Foundation v. Maahera that copyright laws were not made to protect divine beings would not help either. Humor sheds some light on a legal topic.

Developing Good Client Relations

Article Abstract:

Clients often select auditors based on fees and the minimization of inconvenience. Developing good client relations during an audit often consists of common courtesies. Give prompt service and listen carefully to what the client says. Guiding their thinking will be more productive than issuing edicts. Extend good manners to cover business handled over the telephone.
