The ABA Commission on Racial Diversity's report that claiming stagnant minority law school enrollment is discussed. Good news is limited to factors such as increases in minority representation among law professors, but minorities as a whole account for only 10% of the US lawyer population.

Ethics code rework; new ABA Model Rules may be under construction in the next few months

Article Abstract:

The A.B.A.'s pending consideration of proposals to revise the Model Rules of Professional Conduct is discussed. The Ethics 2000 Commission covered confidentiality between lawyer and client, the conflict of interest, writing requirements to remedy charges to remedy charges of inadequate communication, and standards for the delivery of pro bono services.
