"Graceful Merchants": a contemporary view of Chinese business ethics

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine business ethics in modern China from the perspective of experts, scholars, enterprises and Ministries that were represented during the Beijing seminar on "Market Culture." Four case studies were analyzed which highlighted the Chinese transition from the traditional to contemporary business ethics. Results indicate people's dissatisfaction which is partly blamed on the weakening of professional morality and the growth of money-worship.
