International trafficking in stolen vehicles

Article Abstract:

The trafficking in stolen cars is a worldwide phenomenon, with about half a million or more cars each year being transported from developed to less developed nations, hidden in containers or driven across national borders. A study examines the information available on trafficking in stolen vehicles as well as government policies that focus on their identification and repatriation.

What recent studies do (and don't) tell us about imprisonment and crime

Article Abstract:

There are unclear results from research about how effective imprisonment is in preventing crime. The wide range of estimates on this issue suggests alternatives to prison are probably the best use of scarce resources.
