Making Microsoft safe for capitalism

Article Abstract:

Microsoft is monopolizing the US software industry, which could ultimately prove ruinous for competition and innovation. Microsoft appears determined to control every aspect of the computer age, from CD-ROM encyclopedias to the Internet, but its dominance and size are preventing it from creating truly superior products. They are hurting the marketplace with their aggressive tactics, exemplified by their handling of the introduction of Windows '95.

'Stranglehold' on Chicago: airline duopoly, inflated fares, and stunted economic growth

Article Abstract:

This article consists of the text of a July 23, 1998 letter from the author, Kirk Brown, who is the Secretary of the Illinois Transportation Dept. to U.S. Transportation Dept. Secretary Rodney Slater concerning the negative economic influence exerted upon the airline industry and the Chicago area from the domination of the Chicago-area market by two airlines.
