Number of arbitrators and decisions of arbitral tribunals

Article Abstract:

The article examines the current status of the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules (UAR) and the potential for change in relation to two classic rules of the new Austrian arbitration law. The key elements of article 5 on the number of arbitrators, and article 31 on the decision of arbitrators are critically assessed and evaluated.

Surveying a decade of the 'new' Law of arbitration in India

Article Abstract:

The article examines the key features of India's Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, the new Law of Arbitration in India, a decade after its implementation. It evaluates the law's efficacy and reviews the proposals for amendment of the Act, suggested as the law has not fulfilled its potential.
