Online pharmacies present a host of regulatory issues; particularly problematic are sites that prescribe as well as dispense drugs, and offshore sites that sell unapproved drugs

Article Abstract:

The various kinds of online pharmacies are discussed, and those presenting the most legal issues are the sites which prescribe and dispense drugs and the offshore sites which sell unapproved drugs. Sites which prescribe and dispense drugs could be guilty of the unauthorized practice of medicine, while offshore sites have the most problems from a regulatory and enforcement perspective.

Web puts new spin on traditional antitrust laws; established principles still likely to apply to a manufacturer's Internet business strategy

Article Abstract:

The probability that businesses downstream in the distribution channel will use antitrust law to respond to e-commerce threats is discussed. Topis discussed include the ability of manufacturers permitting Internet sales of their products to control the prices. Case rulings have not yet provided definiteive answers to e-commerce antitrust law, and some are discussed.

Regulating online goods; the Consumer Product Safety Commission recently turned its attention to Internet sales

Article Abstract:

The Consumer Product Safety Commission's push to regulate electronic commerce is discussed and was undertaken to correct ignorance of product safety standards and enforcement requirements under the Consumer Product Safety Act. Manufacturers, online importers, distributors and retailers must all comply with regulations.
