Pay awards approach 3.5%

Article Abstract:

UK wage settlement statistics for the autumn 1995 round indicated the continuation of an upward trend toward an overall pay increase of 3.5%. A decline in inflation spurred the upward movement during a traditionally slow period for pay awards. Other pay factors such as the unemployment rate and economic growth were generally flat. Average manufacturing and service sector were depressed during the autumn period.
