Planning for disability helps preserve a client's assets

Article Abstract:

Developing advanced directives, such as durable powers of attorney for financial management and health care decision-making, can simplify estate preservation efforts should a person become incapacitated. Since many forms of government assistance for patients in need of long-term care are need-based, planning may include shifting assets away from the incapacitated spouse to a healthy spouse or children. Trusts can also be used to protect assets, provide the incapacitated person with a source of income and make gifts to others to reduce the estate.

Hurdles and incentives at Vertex

Article Abstract:

A case study of Vertex Data Science indicated that customer service can continually improve when employee productivity is encouraged on the individual, team and organization-wide levels. Employee performance was continuously monitored by electronically posting their up-to-the-minute production numbers, taping telephone calls and acting on employee suggestions for improving the infrastructure. Wage bonuses were also a major component of the programs for encouraging employees to continually strive to meet customer service goals.
