Rules of the road; legal ethics may be speed bumps on the Internet superhighway

Article Abstract:

Use of the Internet poses interesting ethical and freedom-of-speech questions. A federal district court in ACLU v. Reno, devliered on June 11, 1996, described the Internet as more speech-enhancing than print and said the First Amendment applied to the former even more forcefully. Ronald Rotunda, a legal ethics expert, feels the rules on misleading advertising should cover the Internet. Regulating nonmisleading information on the Internet will be difficult.
