Article Abstract:

The desire for jobs in the Bush administration of many Texas lawyers with histories of working with George W Bush and friends is discussed. Lawyers from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer, Baker Botts and Vinson and Elkins are prime examples.

Search firms left in the lurch; slump in legal hiring thins the herd of headhunters

Article Abstract:

The decrease in legal search agencies caused by the lagging fortunes in law firms is discussed. Large law firms use legal headhunters to find very few of the lateral associates hired. Hiring of all associates has been cut back significantly and the attrition rate is half of what is was in 2000.
