The 1995 judicial activity of the International Court of Justice

Article Abstract:

The International Court of Justice received or considered cases on fishery jurisdiction, maritime delimitation, the legality of nuclear weapon usage, and Bosnian genocide during 1995. The Court also made 10 orders during the year and held public sittings in four cases. The Court's composition also changed as four vacancies occurred due to death or resignation, although three of the slots were filled during the year.

The 1996 judicial activity of the International Court of Justice

Article Abstract:

The International Court of Justice's 1996 work is summarized and cases listed. Nine orders were issued, three case pleadings were filed, three hearings were held, and four decisions and two advisory opinions were handed down. Of 11 cases on the court's list, the main contentious case was Kasikili/Sedudu Island. The vacancy created by Judge Andres Aguilar Mawdsley's death was filled by Judge Gonzalo Parra-Aranguren.
