The economics of TRIPs: international trade in information-intensive products

Article Abstract:

The author suggests ways in which the World Trade Organization could improve its intellectual property dispute resolution process under the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights by modifying traditional free trade theory with respect to intellectual property protection, differential pricing, and subsidies.

The world after Dolly: international regulation of human cloning

Article Abstract:

The author compares US and international regulatory responses to human cloning research and proposes the creation of an international agency to regulate such research. The importance of a US role in setting international bioethics and biotechnology policy is discussed.
