The great taxpayer rip-off of 1995

Article Abstract:

The television broadcasting industry can apply for additional licenses to use part of the government-owned electromagnetic spectrum for broadcasting digital TV under the telecommunications deregulation legislation. Other spectrum users oppose the idea of giving TV broadcasters additional licenses when they had to spend billions of dollars in recent auctions of other spectrum licenses for nonbroadcast services. They think it is only fair that TV broadcasters also pay for their use of the spectrum.

The food lion case: are journalists above the law?

Article Abstract:

Food Lion Stores Inc sued ABC News for trespassing and fraud, a case that raised controversial issues pertaining to journalistic ethics. The case began when ABC producers disguised themselves as Food Lion employees and used hidden camera videos to reveal malfeasance by Food Lion employees. The Food Lion jury has properly opposed the idea of a media snooping, however, they failed to assess damages in specific cases, considering that the motivation of the trespasser reveals a wrongdoing.
