Universal access to health care

Article Abstract:

Communitarian principles provide a moral rationale for providing universal access to health care. Institution of such a system could help to promote communitarian values such as relational identity, civic responsibility, sacrifice for the common good, and citizen participation in political deliberation. The analysis supports a single-payer system with freedom to choose a physician, as well as community rating and an emphasis on primary and preventive care.

Reinsurer's access to cedent's records

Article Abstract:

Insurance and reinsurance contracts should contain clear and particular language defining duties and rights regarding reinsurers' access to their predecessors' records. Good faith and cooperative dealing between insurers is no longer common in the areas of environmental and other extensive casualties. Lack of consistency in and quantity of interpretive case law has added to the increased number of disputes in this area.
