Books help add math to reporters' writing skills

Article Abstract:

Reporters and editors in their work and two excellent handbooks commonly encounter math, Math Tools for Journalists and Numbers in the Newsroom are the two excellent handbooks, which provide a guide to the math. It is suggested that journalists should be able to perform basic math before they begin their basic writing courses.

Using math to measure accuracy and fairness

Techniques are presented on managing mathematical data in investigative reporting to reveal statistical significance. These include calculating the mean, median and mode, which provide the average, the middle, and cluster distributions.
