Time limits

Article Abstract:

The amount of leisure time available to people in the UK increased steadily until the mid-1970s, but this growth has now slowed down, with many people finding that they actually have less leisure time. Many more women are involved in paid employment, while the time spent on essential household activities has not gone very much. People tend to be working longer hours, and are taking fewer holidays. However, leisure time is used more productively than in the past, with more money being spent on leisure activities.
